The BISA
US Foreign Policy
Working Group

The United States Foreign Policy Working Group promotes the study, research and teaching of US Foreign Policy in the UK, and is open to all interested in the United States’ role in the world.

The Group convenes an annual conference, as well as seminars and workshops, and is especially interested in exchanges between scholars and practitioners of US foreign policy.

The Working Group was formed following a conference held at the University of Leicester in March 2005. Entitled ‘Issues in American Foreign Policy’ the conference attracted presentations from a wide range of European and American scholars, and revealed both the vitality of the sub-field and the centrality of US foreign policy to the concerns of so much of the International Studies community.

We are a working group of the British International Studies Association (BISA).

THE WORKING GROUP FUNCTIONS AS AN INTERDISCIPLINARY FORUM FOR MEMBERS TO MEET AND COLLABORATE, TO SHARE IDEAS ON TEACHING AND RESEARCH, AND TO SUPPORT POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS.
